Manufacturing Engineer

Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesImprove efficiency of manufacturing processes through process improvements.Reduce manufacturing cost and improve production output through application of lean manufacturing principals.Ensure all engineering documents (i.e., part standards, specifications, manufacturing drawings) are maintained in good order and kept up to date with any changes to industry part standards or specification revisions.Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for manufactured parts, mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using AutoCAD software and/or SolidWorks.Coordinate and consult with tooling department to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.Manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.Coordinates efforts with other team members to maximize responsiveness to engineering issues as they arise.Create and maintain production part routing, tasks, and sequence of operations to meet applicable part standards and specifications.Perform contract review of new sales orders to ensure that all product requirements can be met during manufacturing.Create, revise and deliver production work orders in a timely manner.Perform other duties or task as needed.Skills and Formal Training Requirements/Experience2+ years or more experience in product design, drafting & documentation control of mechanical hard goods using AutoCAD LT 2021 and/or SolidWorks.Knowledge of machining processes and metal manufacturing techniques.Ability to read, comprehend, and create mechanical drawings in accordance with ANSI standards and ASME Y14.5.Ability to read, understand and apply technical manuals, plan drawings, and schematics to the production of engineered drawings.Detailed oriented and multi-tasking abilities.Recognize specifics of part design and design intent relative to manufacturing process, when constructing drawings/specs.Reverse-engineer physical production parts into 3D models and 2D dimensioned drawings and specifications.Familiarity with the use of calipers, micrometers, and optical comparator.Bachelor’s Degree and/or 2 years of experience as a manufacturing engineerHighly proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing with Y14.5.MANUFACTURING ENGINEER AUD Compton 90220
