Group Data Analytics Leader

Can you compile complex data from multiple sources and present it professionally  and coherently to multiple stakeholders, helping to drive the right commercial decisions and corporate strategies?  Do you have a passion for all types of data analytics: descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive, with a strong focus on data mining and working with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data?Do you have the personal and professional skills needed to engage cooperatively with multiple business leaders, their data champions, IT teams and other stakeholders to make a major contribution to the strategic and commercial direction of our business? If so, you could be right for a new and exciting role in Avantus Aerospace.Who are we looking for?Avantus Aerospace is looking for a California based, highly skilled data analyst to join the Group team, to play a key role in shaping the future of the Avantus Aerospace Group.  The successful candidate will help us to become a more data-driven organization by utilizing their prior experience in data analytics (ideally in the aerospace sector) to inform, steer and implement changes to the Group’s commercial business and sales strategy.The skills and abilities of the successful candidate will inform the final choice of job title and the value of the compensation package.Key responsibilities include:Developing a Sales-focused data visualization tool (Power BI) to analyze and measure commercial KPIs and market trends.Driving the consistent application of Power BI across the Group, including cross functional design, definition & implementation.Working with the VP of Business Development and Marketing to continuously analyze Group and market data and actively seeking out business and commercial opportunities and define Sales Data Strategy.Performing strategic analysis of data, advising and presenting on potential new business opportunities.Using your analytical, financial and commercial knowledge to understand the commercial drivers of the Avantus Aerospace business, analyzing our available data and using this to provide clear insights and Sales direction.Serving as the business subject matter expert for the Avantus Aerospace Sales Data Strategy.Working with Avantus Aerospace business leaders in the USA, UK and Europe to refine commercial strategies.Supporting M&A activities by performing strategic analysis of target companies' niches.Professionally preparing materials and eloquently communicating Sales strategy, goals and accomplishments to senior Group stakeholders.Coaching and upskilling on-site support personnel in data analytics.Job RequirementsExpert level competence in data analysis.Genuine expertise in developing and using the data visualization tool Power BI.Experience in building and maintaining Power BI databases, focusing on the data analytics and output.  Proven expertise in extracting complex data from multiple ERP systems.Experience connecting disparate sources of data, structuring and cleansing it, ideally with experience using data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Power Query). Ability to use various outside data sources to aid strategic planning, especially within the Group’s aerospace C-Class market space),Strategic thinking – the ability to leverage aerospace market data to develop new business strategies for various product categories across the Group.Knowledgeable about and able to analyse and present on customer segmentation, pricing competitiveness and competitor assessment.Experience in sales pipeline management.Experience in CRM systems.Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate oftentimes complex data analysis to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.Keen interest in coaching and mentoring others in Data & Analytics concepts and tools.Experience and knowledge of the Aerospace C-Class Hardware market is an advantage.Previous work with a private equity-owned business is an advantage.Reporting lineThis role will report into the Group VP of Business Development & Marketing and will support him in developing team skills in Sales strategy and market positioning.QualificationsA University degree.Relevant data analytics experience in comparable areas.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by 22.C.F.ROur competitive benefits package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife/AD&D and long term disability insurance401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matchBonus opportunityAvantus Aerospace is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer, committed to a diverse work force and a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.  80000 AUD Santa Clarita
