Drill Lead

Basic Purpose and ObjectiveUnder direction from management and according to established policy and procedures, the Drill Lead oversees the day-to-day set-up, production performance, quality, productivity, and adherence to company policies and procedures of the team members in the area/shift while maintaining a safe work environment. In addition, this role is also an individual contributor to each of these elements on a daily basis.Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssign work and deploy operators in each area to maximize the productivity and piece output while holding and monitoring quality standards of the product; this activity coordinated with 1st shift for continuity of production.Assure First run inspection and periodic quality checks are performed following a 2-pan or 3-pan system for self and others as needed.Serves as a single point of contact to assist other operators in their set-up, run times, inspection, trouble shooting, and other tasks to execute the daily production plan.Perform routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning, lubricating, adding fluids, check air pressure and oil levels, belts, cleaning solutions, blast media, among other mechanical items as needed.Train and develop team members in manufacturing disciplines within the area of responsibility.With direction from management, it executes the work allocation to all machines and operators in order to execute the daily production targets; and make adjustments as needed to overcome issues impeding these targets.In cooperation with other shifts, the Drill Lead will deploy resources as needed to each work center to assure the daily, weekly, and monthly production and sales targets are achieved.In cooperation with OSP, evaluate and priority the daily thru cleaning and blast areas in support of production goals.Maintains housekeeping in the department, including 5S principles.Assist in the monitoring and maintaining of tooling inventory levels based on production forecasts.Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards, by following blueprints or work instructions.Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be checked.Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.Perform other duties as needed.As an individual contributor, the Drill Lead will also:Operates and/or setup drilling machines, such as single or multiple spindle drill presses to drill, ream, countersink, spot face or tap holes in work pieces according to specifications.Starts and operates machine operation to detect out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls and machine as required.Sets up and operates machine on trial run to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Identifies, disassembles, and determines corrective action required to repair work or broken parts.Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running.Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.May be tasked to re-sharpen dull drill bits and reamers.Skills and Formal Training Requirements/ExperienceAble to read, comprehend, and execute directions from mechanical drawings.Able to measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.   AUD Paramount 90723
