ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTING FUNCTIONSApplies customer payments.Researches and solves accounts receivable payment discrepancies.Performs filing, archiving.Verifies invoice/expense reports or check requests for accuracy and indicate/verify GL-A CodeVerifies proper authorizations from responsible personnel.Prepares weekly check runs and submits to authorized personnel for signature.Distributes signed checks to vendors via mail or as otherwise directed by the Accounting Manager.Files accounts payable invoices, including cancelled check filing.Enters monthly inventory.Maintains and updates various monthly accounting reports.Performs data entry.Performs additional duties to reduce accounting workload. PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Must have good basic math skills including 10 key by touch experience.Must be proficient in standard business software particularly Excel and MS Word.Must have good phone skills and ability to interact professionally with others, both internally and externally.Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks effectively. Prefer Associates degree.Prefer one year experience in both accounts payable and receivable.Prefer experience with Adapta software.Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements.Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Manual dexterity to type, file and answer phones, etc.Mental acuity to read and comprehend written instructions, calculate rates, etc.Correctable vision and hearing.Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs., etc.Must be able to maneuver successfully through a 37,500 square foot, ground level, manufacturing facility with mezzanines.
