We are seeking an experienced Cold Header Operator to set up and operate automatic cold header machines used to form and cut coil stock in the production of precision products. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality output standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate automatic cold header machines
Form and cut off coil stock for precision production
Make machine adjustments to reduce stock size
Adjust cold header machines with multiple tools and multiple transfer fingers
Utilize cut-off tools and multiple dies effectively
Use common hand tools including:
Box and end wrenches
Micrometers
Scales
Bench grinders
Optical comparators
Indicator plugs
Depth and go/no-go gauges
Cutting tools
Technical drawings
Apply shop math and standard shop practices
Monitor machine quality output by checking parts frequently
Collaborate closely with Tool and Die Makers in the development and production of hammers, up-sets, and quills
Proven experience setting up and operating automatic cold header machines
Strong knowledge of shop math and manufacturing terminology
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience working with multiple dies and transfer systems
High attention to quality and detail
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
