CNC Lead/CNC Machinist Second Shift

The CNC Lead/Machinist will provide support to the manufacturing function in all aspects of his/her assigned responsibilities. This includes operating and setting-up 3, 4 and 5 axis machines, recommending and selecting cutting tools, and inspecting parts he/she manufactures. This is an hourly position that reports to the Factory Manager Main Duties and Responsibilities:Makes adjustments to CNC programs under the supervision of the department lead and communicates all changes to the programming team.Sets-up orders and indicates all tools, tables and fixtures.Changes tools when needed.Works with tight tolerances .0005 / surface finishes.Machines parts made from stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, Inconel and tool steel, including some plastics such as Delrin. Also, machines GFRP and CFRP materials.Assists the department lead in troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues within the CNC department.Interacts daily with management, quality, and production to ensure company goals are met.Additional Duties, as assigned.Lead Role ResponsibilitiesProvides day-to-day direction and support to machinists within the department.Serves as the lead technical resource for machine setups, tool selection, troubleshooting, and process improvement.Helps coordinate daily priorities and workflow to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule.Assists with training and onboarding of new machinists on equipment, setups, inspection requirements, and department procedures.Monitors work quality and provides feedback to ensure compliance with blueprint requirements, tolerances, and workmanship standards.Escalates production, quality, equipment, or staffing concerns to the Machining Supervisor or Factory Manager as needed.Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to cycle times, setup reduction, scrap reduction, and process consistency.Promotes teamwork, accountability, and adherence to company policies and safety practices within the machining department.Acts as a backup to the supervisor in providing floor support and technical guidance when needed.
