Senior Buyer – Aerospace Manufacturing

The Senior Buyer develops and implements cost effective and efficient procedures to purchase commodities, products, and services in accordance with user requirements and company procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods and services.Source products and services at competitive prices and in line with company procedures and business needs.Conduct procurement research projects and analyze results with the objective of identifying opportunities to maximize operations efficacy and profitability.Perform in-depth analysis of supplies’ cost data for major components and develop negotiation strategies and or purchase options.Perform cost modeling, opportunity analysis, monitoring and reporting of new initiatives and objectives for specified components or top projects.Negotiate best terms with suppliers while maintaining efficient output of purchase orders to reach highest quality at best value.Ensure on time delivery of products and services purchased. Monitor supplier performance and prepare related reports.Identify and resolve problems related to purchasing and company suppliers.Communicates with user departments such as engineering and operations to ensure alignment.Other responsibilities per business needs.BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Five or more years of purchasing experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry is required, experience with composites and related products is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related subject.Government contracting experience is preferred.Highly proficient with MS Excel. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.A track record of building relationships within the organization and with outside vendors.Experience in contract negotiating. PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Able to work extended hours when required by business needs.Able to travel by air or ground as required by business demands.Must be able to move about an industrial setting and occasionally wear personal protective equipment typically required in a manufacturing environment.ITAR RequirementThis position requires the use of information which is subject to compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR).
