Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer

Fastener Technology, Corp., FTC, part of Avantus Aerospace has an immediate opportunity for an experienced EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Engineer at our North Hollywood facility.Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5+ years direct, hands-on experience in a broad range of EHS disciplines with an emphasis on health and safety in a manufacturing environment.  Reporting to the company President and dotted line reporting to the EHS Manager, our top pick will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of team, with responsibilities that include:Leading the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs, systems and standards,Maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, DOT, EPA and other applicable regulatory agencies,Collaborating with employees to complete hazard assessments, PPE assessments, etc. and implementing appropriate policies and procedures to mitigate risks.Monitoring employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards.Supporting the incident management process to determine cause(s), prevention, and corrective measures.Tracking EHS training needs, compliance, and effectiveness.Supporting environmental compliance programs.Providing contractor oversight for EHS requirements.Planning, conducting, documenting and tracking implementation of safety audits and corrective actions.Job Requirements include:minimum of 5+ years working as an EHS Engineer in a manufacturing environmentBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven ability to manage multiple projects/assignments with varying priorities.Strong background with Machine Guarding, Control of Hazardous Energy, Hazard Communications, Electrical Safety, Mobile Equipment and Lifting programs.Experience working in machine shops preferred.Experience with process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.   We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.  AUD Los Angeles 4116
