Cost Development & Analysis Engineer

Fastener Technology Corp. is a leader in the aerospace fastener manufacturing industry, seeking the right person to construct reliable and accurate product cost data. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for continuous maintenance of the cost data including; including adjustment initiatives as identified by Sales, Manufacturing, and all other key stakeholdersOverall, this position is responsible for validating cost data, so as to refine cost accuracy. Success in this role will be measured in terms of improved cost accuracy, reduction in cost development turnaround time, and increase eventually in win rates / bookings value.Special Duties and Responsibilities include:Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales to measure and evaluate cost input data.Review customer drawings to develop cost estimating models.Construct cost tables and cost curves for each product family and part number.Monitor cost variables to adjust cost inputs as needed.Review job close-out data to validate the cost data.Build new routers and provide cost for parts.Collect and utilize customer feedback to identify non-competitive costs.Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales to identify cost improvement opportunities.Evaluate and measure alignment between the cost estimating system and the ERP system.Advise management in reviewing new models, methods, and processes with respect to product costing.Work with Sales to optimize the cost/price system with respect to quote turn-around time and accuracy.Participate in the APQP process to ensure product cost modeling and production processes are aligned.Essential Skills and Formal Training Requirements/ExperienceEngineering degree; preferably mechanical engineering.Minimum of seven years’ experience in cost analysis, related to metal formed products; preferably fastener type products.Experience working with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, accounting, and quality departments as it relates to cost development.Working knowledge of fastener manufacturing, router process development, and process capabilities to achieve cost competitive and high quality products is a plus.Knowledge of aerospace customer base.Proactive problem solving.Knowledgeable in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook.Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.Upon job offer, candidates will be required to submit to and pass a drug screen, background check and E-Verify for Employment Eligibility Verification.Company offers competitive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision and Volunteer Life plans, plus employer paid Life, Long Term and AD&D Insurance, 401K with employer match and very generous PTO accrual plan.We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
