Cold Heading Machine Operator

California Screw Products (CalScrew) is looking for an experienced Header Machine Operator to join its team in Paramount, CA.CalScrew has manufactured high quality precision aircraft fasteners for the aerospace commercial and defense markets for over 55 years and is part of Avantus Aerospace, a global leader in C-Class parts for the aerospace industry. ResponsibilitiesSet up machines to start a production cycleReads and interprets documents (routers, drawing, or manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary for producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specificationSets up and operates, on a production basis, all assigned headers and their related products. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specifications. Selects, mounts, and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to produce parts of acceptable quality.Feed raw material to machines and monitors production run using measuring devices, such as, comparators, micrometers, calipers and various other inspect gauges.Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.SkillsProven experience as a machine operator and running Nakashimada or Okuma Cold Header MachinesWorking knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)Understanding of production proceduresAdherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manualsAnalytical skillsAttention to detailTeamwork and communication skillsPhysical stamina and strengthEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED). A minimum of 4 years experience in heading aircraft quality fasteners on single and/or multi-die machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands:The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
