NX CNC Programmer

The NX CNC Programmer is responsible for creating CAD NX models and CNC programming of 3-5 axis mission critical aerospace components and fixtures. This role requires extensive experience analyzing existing models, drawings and mylars from legacy defense and commercial aircrafts. Experienced interpreting Boeing Defense, Lockheed and Northrop technical drawings and models is a requirement. The CNC NX Programmer role is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations. This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimizing machining programs and procedures.Reporting Structure:Direct Line – Process Engineering Director Dotted Line – Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – CNC ProgrammerMain Duties and Responsibilities:Use of NX CAD/CAM software to program 3 and 5-axis mills. Experience with multi-axis CNC Lathes a plus.Use of 3rd party verification software to validate NC files generated before releasing to shop floor.Maintaining revision control on programs and setup sheets.Select optimal tooling & cutting speeds / feeds aerospace materials such as: Aluminum/Copper/Titanium/ Stainless Steels/Inconel.Design work holding for production processes.Makes or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability.Meets expectations for productivity and production goals.Constantly keep products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited.Contributes consistent ideas for process improvements.Support machine set-up and operation of complex and quick turn prototype parts.Tool and fixture design and planning.Mastercam is plus.Requirements:Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:Minimum 3 years of CNC 5 axis programming experience using NX CAM software.Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining. Hands-on experience on CNC machining is a plus. Proved GD&T experience.Ability to interpret Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop requirements from CAD models and legacy drawingsStrong English verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Must have good phone skills and the ability to interact professionally with others, both internally and externally. Must have good listening skills and the ability to be mindful and attentive to the feedback from customers.Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).Must be able to telecommute. Intermediate ITAR and EAR job requirements required. High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred but not required.   AUD Santa Clarita
