Estimator – CNC Machine Parts

Reporting Structure:Direct Line – Chief Technology OfficerMain Duties and Responsibilities:Interprets customer specifications, CAD models, and drawings to determine labor, material, and outsource costs to manufacture.Estimates are to be prepared and thoroughly documented using company approved processes and costing tools.In coordination with purchasing, work with outside suppliers to estimate materials, hardware and outside processes as required.Attend customer bid conferences via web meetings or in person as required.Coordinate with internal functions to ensure alignment on estimated labor (engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, etc).Coordinate with internal functions to develop accurate execution schedules for each quotation.Develop and present cost and execution strategy to internal leadership team prior to quote approval.In coordination with estimating team, review purchase orders to ensure alignment with submitted quotation.Participates with Business Development Team defining pricing and submittal strategy.Requirements: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:10+ years of Aerospace & Defense Engineering, Manufacturing or Sales experienceAbility to interpret most aerospace requirements including CAD models, and drawingsExtensive knowledge of manufacturing processes: Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, and InspectionStrong English verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail with a focus on accuracyAbility to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlinesMust be familiar with AutoCAD, CATIA, NX, DXF and other similar software formats and applications for the purposes of defining scope of work.Must have some knowledge or experience in machining feeds and speeds.Must be familiar with NX and/or Mastercam NC programs or have knowledge of.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to perform pricecomparisons that include percentage differences.Must have good phone skills and the ability to interact professionally with others, both internally and externally.Must have good listening skills and the ability to be mindful and attentive to the feedback from customers.Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Must be able to work from home if needed.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferredMust meet ITAR and EAR employment requirements and have a basic understanding of job scope within such an environment.
